Keyboard Shortcuts
Sairo supports keyboard shortcuts for common actions so you can navigate without reaching for the mouse.
Global shortcuts

Search (/ or ⌘K)
Section titled “Search (/ or ⌘K)”Press / or ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) from anywhere in the UI to open the search bar. The cursor is placed in the search input so you can start typing immediately. Press Escape to dismiss search without navigating.
Parent navigation (Backspace)
Section titled “Parent navigation (Backspace)”When browsing a folder, press Backspace to move up one level in the directory hierarchy. If you are at the root of a bucket, this returns you to the bucket list.
Close (Escape)
Section titled “Close (Escape)”Pressing Escape closes the storage dashboard if it is open. Otherwise, it navigates to the parent folder (same behavior as Backspace). Search and the help overlay have their own Escape handling.
Help (?)
Section titled “Help (?)”Press ? to open the keyboard shortcuts help overlay, which displays the full shortcut reference. Press Escape or ? again to dismiss it.
Search navigation
Section titled “Search navigation”When the search bar is open with results:

Density toggle
Section titled “Density toggle”The toolbar includes a density toggle button that switches between comfortable (default 36px rows) and compact (28px rows) mode. The setting persists across page reloads via localStorage.
Welcome overlay
Section titled “Welcome overlay”On your first visit to Sairo, a welcome overlay appears with a brief feature tour highlighting key capabilities:
- Search — Press
/to search - Shortcuts —
Backspaceto go up,Escapeto go back,?for help - Drag & Drop — Drag files to upload
- Preview — Click the eye icon to preview files
The overlay is shown once and does not reappear on subsequent visits.
